About me
I am a young and enthusiastic jewellery designer currently completing a Bachelor at Central Saint Martins in London. In my projects, I use unconventional materials to make jewellery and break down the idea of preciousness through them. I wish to gain further experience in this fascinating industry through internships and collaborations with jewellery designers.
My Story
From a young age, I have been fascinated by art and was certainly more keen on drawing than solving equations. With a pencil in hand, sketching away the day I felt at peace and always wondered if it was possible to do just that as a career. To my surprise, it was a path that was open to me and so the journey started.
I began taking my artistic practice seriously in my last two years of high school during which I completed my International Baccalaureate in 2019 with Art as a higher level subject. At this stage, my projects focused on fine arts and ceramics. This was also when "theartaway" blog came to fruition through a passion for writing and reflecting on my visits to certain galleries, artworks and life's treasures in general.
After graduating high school, I didn't feel my skills were strong enough to pursue an undergraduate degree yet. I went on to do a foundation year in art and design during which I found my true passion for jewellery design. I applied to Central Saint Martins for September 2020 for a bachelor in Jewellery design and successfully got accepted.
Now a second year student, I am learning the challenges of design and making, enjoying every moment of it.
