New-York; the city that never sleeps

Unless you have been living under a rock, there is no doubt that you have not heard of the "city that never sleeps", also known as the "concrete jungle" or New York. The city is not the only thing that doesn't close its eyes, designers; be it interior or exterior ones are definitely keeping their eyes wide open for new emerging trends in the design industry. New York is home to many key figures of the art and design community, and that doesn't come as a surprise to me as the city is the most exhaustive and elaborate source of inspiration one can get, Anywhere you look, step forward, backward or sideways you will find something unfamiliar or intriguing. It's just a question of looking hard enough to find those things.

Personally, I don't need much more than the flickering lights of time square and the apartment buildings to take me on a journey of artistic enlightenment. Now that might be because of my origin, coming from a small town where the sidewalk is barely visible at night, you could call New York my culture choc. I feel quite the opposite though. Every time I come back from the city, I feel refreshed and motivated to engage in new projects; whether those are artistic or self-development ones . I know that when I say: "chaos makes me feel calm and at ease", some may see it as a slightly paradoxal thing to state, but that is how my artistic mind develops.

Now, I am in no way implying that in order to be refreshed and find inspiration you have to travel 8000km away from home base, but just that little walk around the neighborhood can help the wheels of imagination and creativity to turn again.
